SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia
SOS Children’s Villages is a non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and families, particularly those without parental care or at risk of losing it. The organization focuses on providing alternative care options and strengthening families to prevent separation, working in over 130 countries and territories.

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We started our humanitarian work in Ethiopia with the opening of our first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974.
SOS is implementing the “Leave No Youth Behind” project to contribute to the impact where young care leavers in Ethiopia demonstrate resilience and self-reliance to become independent and contributing members of society. The project envisions targeting a minimum of 1,400 young care leavers directly, while indirectly benefitting 2.8 million young care leavers, by encouraging resilience and self-reliance to empower young care leavers to become independent and contributing members of society.
